my go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe

here it is guys, the recipe that made me fall in love with baking. this recipe has been my go-to for almost 10 years and that's not about to change. the cookies are crispy on the outside and perfectly chewy on the inside. The ingredients are very simple and very few. I like using molasses instead of brown sugar. That way, I don't have to worry about not having brown sugar in my kitchen. If you do have brown sugar, go ahead and use it. use one cup of regular sugar and one cup of brown sugar and omit the molasses.

ingredients:

  1. 2 1/2 cups flour
  2. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  3. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  4. 2 cups sugar
  5. 1 cup butter
  6. 1 tablespoon molasses
  7. 2 eggs
  8. 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  9. 1 cup chocolate chips or chunks or 1/2 cup chips and 1/2 cup chunks

instructions:

  1. preheat the oven to 375f
  2. mix together the flour, baking soda and salt and put aside.
  3. beat together the sugar, butter and molasses until fluffy and lighter in colour.
  4. mix-in the eggs and vanilla extract until combined.
  5. mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
  6. fold-in the chocolate chips.
  7. roll tablespoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet making sure to leave an inch of space in between each cookie.
  8. bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges start to take on a golden colour.
  9. let cool and enjoy!
