chocolate muffins
want a decadent recipe that's super chocolatey. Look no further. This double chocolate muffin has all the characteristics of a brownie that we love. It's crispy on the outside and the melted chocolate chips make the inside extra moist. they take about 5 minutes to put together and 20 minutes to cook. try them out, I know you won't regret it.
ingredients:
- 1-1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup cocoa
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375f.
- line a muffin tin with 12 paper liners.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt. set aside.
- mix together the vegetable oil, milk and egg.
- transfer the wet mixture into the dry mixture and mix until just combined, making sure of not overmixing.
- fold the chocolate chips into the batter.
- drop the batter into the prepared liners until they are 3/4 full.
- bake for 18 minutes or until the muffins bounce back when you press on them.
- enjoy!
- overmixing will make your muffins sink and they will not have that dome appearance we all want.
- this recipe makes 12 muffins.
- the muffins can stay fresh in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Trust me, they will not last that long!
- they can be frozen.
